One of my favorite Bertha’s, the “Test Me Test Me” line just explodes. I remember looking up and thinking wow, this is going to be a fun night.

Well, yeah, 'cause I was tripping. :-) This was the only show out of 84 I saw that I ever tripped at. I think I peaked a little early, at the end of the first set. It was kind of cool, though, during Let it Grow the backline amps and the drums appeared to me to spell out the words "Dead" (above, mostly the drums) and "Grateful" like they were ABC blocks. I was at the back of the floor and stood on my folding metal chair for most if not all of the show. There were a bunch (6? 10?) of mic stands way front of board and way up high, it's hard to believe this recording is from one of those rigs. I have an unknown gen cassette of a partial 2nd set starting with Fire that sounds really good. I saw about a half dozen shows at the ol' Coliseum, the others being hard rock/metal shows: Boston, Pat Travers/Rainbow (Joe Lynn Turner era), The Kinks, Black Sabbath, and Judas Priest.

Great show
but ok sound is just average for an audience
the bass is deep but the overall sound is a bit distant.

how lucky are WE that WE got it? yeah, it's distant and a bit boomy and it'll get a 2 or 3 star quality rating BUT Jerome is ripping it up in my room right now on LET IT GROW;my mind went to me maybe falling down from dizziness if I SPUN right now the way I used to SPIN in my youth.
